We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Registered Nurse, you will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, provide clinical leadership for other staff, and assume relief charge duties when designated.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A nationally accredited nursing graduate degree.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement.
- PALS certification within 6 months.
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
This role requires:
- Heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
- Significant hazard: chemicals, biohazardous materials requiring PPE.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including the potential for up to $8.00 in addition to base pay, as well as sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement opportunities.
