About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mohs Technician to join our team at Clear Choice Dermatology LLC. As a key member of our dermatology lab, you will play a critical role in supporting our Mohs surgery procedures and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and inspect tissues or specimens, ensuring accurate and timely preparation for microscopic evaluation.
  • Prepare specimens for processing, including weighing, cassette preparation, and block log updates.
  • Perform routine staining procedures, including operating and maintaining slide staining equipment.
  • Embed and cut tissue, and place on slides for staining, ensuring precise and accurate results.
  • Stain and cover slip slides for physician review, maintaining the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Prepare for Mohs surgery by setting up cryostat, stainer, and supplies, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
  • Follow specimen protocols and procedures within required timeframes for embedding frozen surgical specimens.
  • Dispose of tissue following proper protocol, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment, instruments, and machines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain specimen documentation and records, accurately tracking and storing critical information.
  • Print grossing sheets and labels for slides, ensuring accurate and timely labeling.
  • Maintain, document, and troubleshoot equipment, reagents, temperature logs, and other supplies, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • File surgical reports, photographs, and slides, maintaining a secure and organized storage system.
  • Answer questions from front office staff, medical assistants, physicians, or outside clinics, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • May train other staff on specific clinic processes and procedures in relation to Mohs surgery, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to strict confidentiality protocols and guidelines.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required to perform the functions of this position, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
