FEA/Computational Engineer

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled FEA/Computational Engineer to support the National Ground Intelligence Center. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical defense initiatives while advancing your career within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced modeling and simulation techniques, including finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), to evaluate material and armor performance against various threats.
- Conduct analyses that may involve modeling penetrator degradation, assessing residual energy, and characterizing behind armor debris and component damage.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience may also be considered. Not all qualifications are mandatory; candidates with partial qualifications are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in computational analysis, particularly in FEA and/or CFD related to fragmentation, penetration, armor systems, and threat characterization.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., ProE or SolidWorks).
- Proficiency with CTH or similar hydrocode.
- Experience in mesh generation and the development of complex geometries.
- Experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Desirable: Knowledge of military systems, live-fire testing, and validation techniques.
