Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist to become a part of our expanding team at Cardiovascular Specialists of New England. In this role, you will provide essential patient care support and be accountable for both direct and indirect patient care, ensuring that the quality of diagnostic studies meets established standards. You will report directly to the Office Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations
  • Utilize cardiac pulse and continuous wave ultrasound Doppler to assess and characterize intracardiac blood flow patterns
  • Perform transesophageal cardiac ultrasound procedures
  • Execute stress echocardiography tests
  • Possess knowledge of equipment, standard tests, procedures, and typical readings, including arrhythmias and abnormalities
  • Recognize and respond to typical patient reactions and signs of distress, including the ability to identify, report, and manage potentially life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Understand common equipment settings and standardized procedures, as well as common errors and corrective actions
  • Adapt procedures and positions to achieve accurate results for patients with complicating conditions
Qualifications:
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is mandatory
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist
  • BLS/ACLS Certification is required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with both Echo and Vascular experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to reassure patients and communicate effectively
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities for interaction with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Attention to detail to identify abnormalities in sonograms
  • Hand-eye coordination to adjust the ultrasound transducer based on visual feedback
  • Technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, including in emergency situations, to facilitate rapid diagnosis
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the medical team
  • Medical knowledge, including a solid understanding of anatomy, to produce accurate images
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
Work Environment:

This position will be based in our New Hampshire offices.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this full-time position ranges from $40.00 to $50.00, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
