Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and remove trash from all areas of the Church and Parish Hall
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Prepare the Parish Hall for events and reset it to standard setup
  • Assure all buildings are secured before leaving at conclusion of shift
  • Keep parish grounds in good order and ensure they are clean and safe
Requirements
  • Possess a personal vision of Jesus' ministry and how it can be lived in parish life
  • Be a person who has the ability to work with people, as a parish team member, as well as independently
  • Possess a trait of responsibility for the assigned work
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and communicate with all parish priests, staff members, parishioners, and visitors
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality in interacting with parishioners, staff, vendors, technicians and others
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Experience with past custodial work or building maintenance preferred but not required
Working Conditions
  • Required to lift or carry furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger
  • Required to perform strenuous walking, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, climbing, twisting, grasping, and reaching overhead
  • Required to hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
  • Required to work with chemicals, exposure to dust, and slippery and uneven walking surfaces
  • Required to work in various climate conditions
