Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Care Specialist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a Dental Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care services to patients of all ages, ensuring their overall health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Dental Care: Provides and manages direct dental diagnosis, treatment, procedures, and care for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes Medications: Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed dental conditions.
  • Referrals and Coordination: Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Operational Management: Manages the daily operations of patient care, as appropriate to the objective of the dental clinic.
  • Team Leadership: Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of dental technical and support staff as required.
  • Quality and Safety: Follows established department policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Health Promotion: Participates in specified health/dental promotion, education, and/or prevention and risk assessments.
  • Dental Care Planning: Develops and implements individualized dental care plans for patients and risk protocols.
  • Infection Control: Manages the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC, ADA, and HIPAA Standards.

Requirements

  • Education: DDS or DMD
  • Licensure: Licensed as a dentist in the state of Illinois
  • Certifications: CPR, Infection Control, and other training certificates as required
  • Experience: 2+ years of clinical work experience in a community health center setting preferred
  • Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Polish is preferred
