Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter Specialist to join our team at Schnucks Markets. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Operate and maintain all meat cutting equipment, including power tools, to ensure efficient and safe processing of meat products.
  • Cut and prepare all cuts of meat, including blocking beef, pork, lamb, and veal, to meet customer demand.
  • Grind meat and cube steaks and patty steaks to order.
  • Prepare product for the service meat case, ensuring accurate labeling and pricing.
  • Suggestive selling and product sampling to enhance customer experience.
  • Receive and stock product from our warehouse, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Read and understand shelf tags to ensure accurate product placement and pricing.
  • Follow company safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide customers with proper cooking instructions and recommendations.
  • Check and maintain proper temperature controls for coolers, freezers, and cutting room.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, and meat cases, adhering to company safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • At closing, pull product from service meat case for proper storage.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a meat cutting or food service environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet environment and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Additional Requirements
  • Internal candidates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks Markets.
  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks Markets.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
