PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing and reporting various analyses of multiple specimen sources.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide accurate results.
- Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide timely and effective patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
- Associate's degree in medical technology or a related field.
- Must take the MLT American Society of Clinical Pathology Exam (ASCP) within one year of hire.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
