About the Role

PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing and reporting various analyses of multiple specimen sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide accurate results.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide timely and effective patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in medical technology or a related field.
  • Must take the MLT American Society of Clinical Pathology Exam (ASCP) within one year of hire.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
