Job Description:

As an Adolescent Behavioral Health Nurse Specialist at Avera Behavioral Health Center, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing patient-centered care. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing patients' needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care across various disciplines to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, self-care strategies, and coping mechanisms.
  • Mental Health Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to patients struggling with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and addiction.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Clinical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research and best practices in adolescent behavioral health to provide evidence-based care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with adolescents and young adults in a behavioral health setting is highly desirable.
