Position Overview:

As a Creative Multimedia Specialist, you will collaborate with diverse teams and individuals at The Maryland School for the Blind to produce engaging print and digital content, video materials, and artistic designs tailored for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Duties:

  1. Design digital assets including promotional materials, signage, publications, and presentations.
  2. Create graphics for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  3. Develop motion graphics for social media, websites, and video content.
  4. Conduct photography tasks including research, editing, retouching, and organizing photo shoots, as well as capturing campus events.
  5. Manage videography projects, including filming, editing, and captioning using Adobe Creative Suite.
  6. Oversee web design and maintenance primarily on the WordPress platform.
  7. Design graphics for various events, whether in-person, virtual, or pre-recorded.
  8. Create infographics and visual representations of data.
Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Equipment Utilized:
Computer, keyboard, Adobe Creative Suite, multiline telephone, consumer-grade DSLR camera, video camera, and other multimedia tools.

Performance Expectations:
Represent the institution positively through all design initiatives, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and producing inclusive materials.

Work Schedule:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break; flexible scheduling options are available. This role adheres to a twelve-month work schedule.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  2. 1-2 years of relevant experience (internship experience may be considered).
  3. At least 1 year of experience in video editing using Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  4. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  5. Familiarity with ADA accessibility standards is preferred.
  6. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and seek new opportunities for collaboration and visibility enhancement.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail.
  9. A digital portfolio showcasing multimedia designs is required during the interview process.
