StarCare Specialty Health System is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychoeducational Specialist to join its esteemed Forensics Team. This dynamic professional will provide comprehensive education and support services to incarcerated individuals at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs on various topics, including medication management, conflict resolution, and anger management.
- Collaborate with external agencies, law enforcement, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address mental health concerns.
- Assist with crisis intervention and reentry planning for individuals transitioning back into the community.
- Provide consultation services to jail mental health staff and coordinate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement reentry goals and treatment plans for assigned individuals.
- Master's degree in a human services field, such as psychology, sociology, or family studies.
- Two years of experience in a related field, preferably in a forensic or correctional setting.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
