Primary Purpose of the Position:

Oversee and optimize an international transportation budget exceeding $100 million, focusing on ocean, air, and drayage logistics. Formulate strategies to achieve and surpass annual operational objectives.

Direct and enhance the continuous improvement initiatives within the international transportation division. Key responsibilities include conducting daily operational meetings, managing productivity and service enhancement projects, facilitating monthly carrier collaboration sessions, and overseeing monthly performance scorecard communications.

Develop and implement an annual bidding process in collaboration with procurement, ensuring accurate bid volumes and requirements are established.

Ensure compliance with export regulations (licenses, free trade agreements, declarations) and import regulations (CTPAT, ISF, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

Export Compliance:

  1. Guarantee adherence to export regulations, including license applications and free trade documentation.
  2. Manage the Solas VGM process.
  3. Oversee federal excise tax processes.
  4. Coordinate long-term supplier declarations.
  5. Handle export licenses as required by the US Department of State.
  6. Conduct research for USMCA bill of materials.

Transportation and Operational Management:

  1. Lead daily operational team meetings, focusing on metrics, root cause analysis, and improvement planning.
  2. Manage the North American ocean bidding process, including operational requirements and lane verification.
  3. Communicate monthly forecasts to carriers.
  4. Oversee minibid management for NVOCC and contract carriers.
  5. Facilitate international freight payment discussions.
  6. Contribute as a member of the North American global ocean team.

Carrier Operational Management:

  1. Conduct weekly meetings with international carriers, focusing on metrics and improvement strategies.
  2. Lead monthly collaborations with carriers, presenting results and improvement plans.
  3. Create and distribute monthly scorecards to carriers, ensuring accountability for performance.
  4. Manage the monthly QBR process, including presentation creation and scorecard discussions.

Import Compliance:

  1. Coordinate CTPAT cargo mapping.
  2. Oversee ISF processing and updates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Manage GRC approval requests.
  2. Support business continuity efforts.
  3. Oversee Pcard reconciliation processes.
  4. Facilitate international freight payment discussions.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, computer science, or a related field.

Experience:

4-6 years of experience in supply chain or logistics within a large multinational organization, including 2-4 years in international transportation and import/export compliance. Experience in complex multinational supply chains is preferred.

Knowledge:

Experience with international compliance (import and export), strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques. Proficiency in creating and maintaining complex Excel financial models and experience with database tools such as Microsoft Access is essential.
