Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer Leader to join our growing Water Practice in the Northeast Region. As a key member of our team, you will lead and manage various water resources engineering projects involving dams and reservoirs, flood resiliency, and general water infrastructures across the Northeast region and nationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to expand the water resources engineering practice within Schnabel's Dams and Levees business line.
  • Serve as a Water Resources Engineering Lead and Project Manager on a variety of projects that include surface water hydrology and hydraulics, dams & levees, flood protection, as well as resiliency and climate change adaptation.
  • Develop and supervise hydrologic and hydraulic models, climate risk and hazard analyses, and contribute to the planning and design of water resources projects.
  • Prepare and review water resources engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations for various applications, projects, and clients.
  • Conduct inspections of existing hydraulic structures and perform dam safety reviews, ensuring compliance with current industry standards and design criteria.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree preferred) in Civil, Water Resources, and/or Coastal Engineering.
  • 8+ years of direct engineering consulting experience in the water resources and modeling fields with in-depth experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become registered within 6 months.
  • Effective time management through balancing multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments.
  • Analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $90,000 and $190,000, depending on experience.
