Job Summary

The Commercial Helper II (CDL) plays a critical role in providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services to customers on a designated route. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License and a minimum of 2 years of experience working around commercial trucks. The ideal candidate will be able to safely drive, load waste and poly carts, and assist the driver in maneuvering the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the driver in servicing customers on a designated route, ensuring timely and professional service.
  • Load refuse, waste, and poly carts, and lift and carry trash bags and containers to the truck for disposal.
  • Operate the packing mechanism and various levers and handles to activate the lifting and loading mechanism.
  • Assist the driver in safely operating the vehicle by directing the driver from the ground.
  • Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip, and spray and clean the hopper and truck.
  • Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy, and report any safety issues on standard reports.
  • Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste, and clean the area around any accidental waste spills.
  • Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures, and actively participate in the Company's ReSOP program.
