Job Overview
The Lead Pharmacist is accountable to the Director of Operations (DOO).

Under general supervision, this role ensures adherence to all relevant laws and regulations for a single pharmacy; accurately dispenses prescribed medications; may oversee professional, paraprofessional, and support staff; and performs related responsibilities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guarantee that all prescriptions are entered, filled, and dispensed with precision, efficiency, and within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels to ensure seamless pharmacy operations within financial limits.
  • Develop and mentor supervisory personnel, providing guidance and direction as required.
  • Assess and recommend technological advancements that could enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee workflow; identify challenges and implement improvements.
  • Contribute to pharmacy operations by fulfilling pharmacist duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with the President to address conflicting priorities (financial vs. service levels, etc.).
  • Work alongside the DOO and customer service to resolve service-related issues promptly, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the DOO and customer service in the smooth onboarding of new business.
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as necessary.

Foster a positive experience for consumers and clinic partners, continuously building strong relationships to proactively address their needs.
Ensure that pharmacy operations and team members comply with policies and standards in line with state and federal regulations.

Financial Responsibilities

Accountable for the financial performance of the pharmacy, identifying growth opportunities.

Team Development

Inspire, develop, and coach pharmacy staff to help them reach their potential and deliver outstanding service.

Create a supportive team environment that encourages compassion and embodies our core values and culture.

  • Actively promote recruitment of top talent for our pharmacies.
  • Review key performance indicators with pharmacy staff to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
  • Conduct workforce and business planning to achieve operational excellence.

Build strong relationships with the community, stakeholders, and clinic partners to ensure all needs are met and to promote the pharmacy business.

Participation in Improvement Programs

Engage in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies and participate in the Company's Performance Improvement program as requested.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as communicate verbally and audibly.
The employee must use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Pharmacy Degree and State Licensure.
  • Experience in compounding and current knowledge of applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Skills in interviewing and training.
