Licensure/Certification:

Must possess a valid Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License, or an active compact state RN license in good standing, along with American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers valid for at least six months post-employment.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights daily, frequently handling 25-50 pounds. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Work conditions may expose staff to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from patients or sharp instruments.

Work Schedule:

Availability to work three twelve-hour shifts weekly from 7 AM to 7:30 PM is essential.

Job Overview:

The Oncology Registered Nurse at the Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic will deliver care to diverse oncology patients facing various conditions, including leukemia, breast cancer, solid tumors, lung cancer, colon cancer, and blood disorders. The infusion clinic operates with a team structure, including a team leader for scheduling and patient care assignments.

The core responsibilities encompass providing comprehensive, patient-centered care, which includes:
1. Assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a thorough nursing care plan.
2. Delivering direct patient care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
3. Training and delegating tasks to Nursing Care Technicians.
4. Adhering to university policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

This role fosters collaboration among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes, utilizing a comprehensive patient-centered care approach.

Preferred Qualifications:
