Cleaning Team Member Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of designated areas within a designated time period, while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Empty trash cans, ash trays, and other waste receptacles into refuse collection bags, and replace can liners.
  • Dust, damp wipe, and/or spot clean all horizontal and vertical surfaces, including desks, table tops, chairs, filing cabinets, bookshelves, telephone instruments, computer equipment, walls, light switches, partitions, doors, and mirrors.
  • Vacuum and/or dust/mop all office area floors and baseboards, and spot clean as needed.
  • Clean restrooms, including pre-spraying disinfectants and bathroom cleaners, re-supplying soap, tissue, towels, and feminine hygiene dispensers, cleaning vents, dusting walls, doors, and partitions, removing trash, cleaning and wiping dry fixtures, mirrors, and dispensers, and spot washing walls, doors, and partitions.
  • Make note of any mechanical and/or electrical malfunctions, and report to supervisor.
  • Ensure all lights are out and appropriate doors are locked when leaving an area.
  • Keep janitor closets clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Return all cleaning materials and supplies to the storeroom, and refill items as needed at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead.
