About the Role

We are seeking a skilled GSE Mechanic to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation. As a GSE Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on various types of mechanical equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities, including complex maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, systems, and other related trade skill sets.
  • Training and Development: Train, mentor, and guide Jr. GSE Mechanics to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Leadership: May have input on the hiring and promotion of others in the mechanic employee group.
  • Communication: Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
  • Safety: Work in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment, and follow all company and federally established policies and procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks: Utilize a computer to perform a variety of communications, training, and administrative processes, and complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a heavy, medium, or light-duty mechanic
  • Skills: Ability to read and understand basic electrical/hydraulic schematics, and must have own set of hand tools common to the trade
  • Availability: Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous work experience in an airport environment
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Troubleshooting: Strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience
  • Certifications: State and/or ASE certification in automotive and diesel repair or associated field
  • Experience Working in a CMMS: 1 year experience working in a CMMS
  • Knowledge of Equipment Repair: Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to equipment repair
