This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Rocky's Ace Hardware as a Paint Team Member. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that our paint department is running smoothly.



About the Role

  • You will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • You will work closely with store management and other sales departments to ensure that customers' needs are met and that the store is running efficiently.
  • You will be required to use various equipment and machinery to match and mix paint, and to visually distinguish slight differences in a vast array of colors.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock position of assigned area, ensuring that it is clean, shop able, and safe.
  • In addition, you will be expected to drive the Business To Business 'B2B' paint business and attend mandatory monthly store meetings.


Key Responsibilities

  2. Provide amazing, fast sales service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance.
  3. Provide information on product features/benefits, and know related items to sell an entire project.
  4. Greet, qualify, recommend and close sales for customers in the paint department.
  5. Troubleshoot customer issues/problems that may arise.
  6. Possess basic knowledge of adjacent departments.
  7. Maintain the in-stock position of assigned area, and ensure that it is clean, shop able, and safe.
  8. Work in cooperation with Store Management, other sales departments, and the front-end associates to ensure customers' needs are met.
  9. Use various equipment and machinery to match and mix paint; must be able to visually distinguish slight differences in a vast array of colors.
  10. Responsible for Paint training, coaching and developing store associates in the Paint department.
  11. Drive the Business To Business 'B2B' paint business.
  12. Attend mandatory monthly store meetings.


Requirements

  • You must have a High School degree, some college preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a retail environment a plus.
  • You must be able to read and interpret documents; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • You should be able to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic concepts of math.
  • You should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • You must have knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers.
  • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce and Epicor Eagle a plus.
  • Experience with Benjamin Moore's web portal, ACE's web portal, XRite a plus.


Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $45,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
