The Pre-Owned Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is tasked with the essential role of engaging with vehicle owners to evaluate, appraise, and present offers aimed at acquiring their vehicles for resale purposes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with current owners of used vehicles from various channels to facilitate the purchase of their vehicles.
  • Approach and interact with dealership clientele to assess and propose offers for their existing vehicles.
  • Utilize the Sonic Automotive automated inventory management system effectively.
  • Stay informed about market trends and fluctuations within the local automotive market.
  • Provide support and insights to dealership Sales Associates regarding the acquisition of used vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough appraisals of used vehicles.
  • Participate in daily trade walks.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive sales.
  • Set personal income objectives aligned with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Attend training sessions on products and sales as directed by management.
  • Keep updated on new products, features, and their advantages for customers.
  • Understand vehicle equity and values, and clearly explain depreciation concepts to customers.
  • Facilitate introductions to the sales department for customers interested in purchasing a new vehicle after selling their current one.
  • Maintain a follow-up system to encourage repeat business and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop a prospect system for current used vehicle leads and schedule appraisals and purchases.
  • Participate in sales meetings regularly.
  • Ensure a safe and professional work environment.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance at all times.
  • Recognize that customer satisfaction is paramount to the business and commit to ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
  • Assess management, production, and quality requirements through effective communication.
  • Attend Sonic meetings as required.
  • Implement a follow-up system to ensure project continuity.
  • Report to management regarding objectives, planned activities, and performance reviews.
  • Review and evaluate daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions to optimize time management and planning.
  • Stay informed about industry terminology and technological advancements in the automotive sector.
  • Follow supervisor directives and adhere to established work rules and procedures.
