Histology Technician

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in Annandale, Virginia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for the Pathologist to review, prioritizing and completing testing procedures in a timely and accurate manner, and maintaining proper records of all tests done in accordance with established policies and regulations.

• Prepare tissue samples for histological examination
• Prioritize and complete testing procedures in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain accurate records of all tests done
• Follow standard operating procedures for embedding and sectioning tissue samples
• Operate microtome to section paraffin blocks and produce high-quality slides

• High School diploma equivalent
• 1 year of experience as a Histology Technician or successful completion of Inova's Histology Tech Trainee program
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
