Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Identification and Preparation
    • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history
    • Assist patients and family members who require extra attention
    • Ensure patient understanding and safety
  • MRI Technology and Operations
    • Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy
    • Operate MRI scanners and maintain proficiency in automatic injections of MRI contrast
    • Interpret protocols and select appropriate scanning parameters
  • Contrast Administration and Image Transfer
    • Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols
    • Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures
    • Verify and segment images at the QC station
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities
    • Perform tasks in a timely manner and maintain a clean and orderly work environment
    • Volunteer to work on challenging tasks and difficult procedures
    • Review patient charts and reports for correlation
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible
  • Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. The salary range is $40.09 per hour (hiring range). The position is exempt from overtime.
