Outpatient Primary Care Physician Opportunity in Atlanta, GA

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join their team at the Atlanta, GA VA Medical Center. As a member of the healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive medical care to veterans enrolled in the Primary Care team setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing primary medical care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems
- Collaborating with other health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes
- Documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition
- Referring patients to specialists, ordering and/or performing procedures, and monitoring medications
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a patient-centered medical home model. A comprehensive electronic medical record system is used, and the physician will be assigned a patient panel of 1000-1200 patients.
Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with a salary range of $240,000-$270,000 per year. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate, and selected candidates may be eligible to apply for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
Qualifications include:
- Citizenship: Citizen of the United States
- Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia
- Education: Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from a school approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
- Physical Standards: Must meet the physical requirements established for this position
