Job Summary:
We are seeking a Safety Escort to join our team in Navarre, FL. The Safety Escort will assist the driver in the safe management of students onboard the vehicle, ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for all passengers.
About the Role:
As a Safety Escort, you will be responsible for monitoring all passengers to ensure their safety at all times. This includes assisting students as they enter and exit the bus, performing safety checks, and leading emergency evacuations. You will also be responsible for communicating any behavior issues with parents and management, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned bus.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor all passengers to ensure their safety at all times.
- Assist students as they enter and exit the bus.
- Perform safety checks on the bus to ensure the safety of all students.
- Know the routes and remain alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route.
- Check the bus for sleeping children.
- Assist the driver to safely direct the vehicle in backing safely, when necessary.
- Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of exiting by emergency door.
- Ability to open and close service doors and move up and down steps multiple times a day.
- Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various bus stops with the driver.
- Liaise with parents on an as-needed basis.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned bus.
- Occasionally attend field trips and special events to ensure passenger safety.
Requirements:
- 1+ year(s) of experience working with children or students
- Complete comprehensive training program
- Pre-employment background checks
