Job Description

**Job Title:** Certified Behavior Technician

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Behavior Technician to join our team at Salinas City Elementary. As a Certified Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs and promoting positive behavioral outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavioral intervention plans to support students with special needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide direct support to students in the classroom and during behavioral interventions
  • Collect and record data on student behavior and progress
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • AA degree or 48-semester units of college, or Para-educator Assessment
  • Maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification, including receiving required supervision from the assigned BCBA Supervisor
  • Obtain and maintain certification in District-approved Crisis Intervention Training
  • Current CPR and First-aid certification (and maintaining it current)
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver's License, evidence of insurability, and a reliable means of transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
