We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures for patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures
- Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for laboratory testing
- Input and extract data with the Laboratory Information System
- Provide patient care while performing duties
- Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Serve as a preceptor for less experienced staff and students
- Perform clerical tasks as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Phlebotomy/venipuncture course preferred
- Certifications: CPT, PBT(ASCP)
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing situations and work effectively in a team environment.
