Job Title: Substitute Preschool Instructional Assistant

FCUSD is seeking a Substitute Preschool Instructional Assistant to support our preschool programs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a passion for early childhood education.

Job Summary

The Substitute Preschool Instructional Assistant will assist the teacher in improving the quality of the preschool programs. This may involve clerical duties, supervision of children, transportation, food service, and instructional tasks. The assistant will work under the supervision of the teacher and will not be responsible for giving out personal information about students.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in improving the quality of the preschool programs
  • Perform clerical duties, such as preparing materials and maintaining records
  • Supervise children during activities and ensure their safety
  • Transport children to and from activities, as needed
  • Assist with food service, such as preparing and serving meals
  • Perform instructional tasks, such as leading activities and providing support to students
Requirements
  • DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
  • TB Test within the last 60 days
  • Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool setting
  • Completion of six units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • Willingness to complete training courses and in-service as required
Working Conditions

The Substitute Preschool Instructional Assistant will work in a preschool setting, primarily on school days. The work schedule will vary, but the assistant will be expected to work a minimum of 9.5 months per year.

FCUSD offers a competitive salary of $20.00 per hour and a supportive work environment.
