Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and services to our residents, and we are seeking a committed and compassionate individual to join our team as a Unit Manager. **Responsibilities:**

• Oversee the delivery of nursing services in the absence of the ADON, communicating directly with the Administrator.
• Make rounds in all departments and confer with the nursing staff on each unit assigned.
• Report to the Administrative Office of any problems encountered in making rounds.
• Inform the Administrative Office of changes in residents' conditions.
• Supervise all levels of nursing personnel on all shifts.
• Assist with inservice education, staff meetings, and orientation as needed.
• Check nursing care plans.
• Follow duties outlined by the Director for specific days and/or specific projects.
• Leave a written report for the Director of Nursing of activities that transpired in the absence of the Director.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in carrying out her responsibilities according to the Director's instructions.
• Conduct monthly surveys re: resident care status and compile reports.
• Handle nursing problems in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
• Follow-up of recommendations of the consulting pharmacist.
• Fill in on floor duty in the event of staffing shortages or problems in the facility.
• Praise and discipline staff members as required and assist in annual performance evaluation.
• Perform staff appraisals as directed.
• Issue warning notices based on performance deficiencies.
• Assess staff educational needs as a result of performance deficiencies.
• Schedule and/or perform inservice education and training to meet these needs.
• Responsible for Utilization Review activities, including determination of the resident's required level of care, and in accordance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
• Routine review of Medicare, Skilled Medicaid, and private skilled residents.
• Check certifications for all types of residents when reviewing all new admissions.
• Inservice and assist nursing staff regarding documentation of care needed to meet and maintain skilled level of care requirements.
• Daily updates of resident levels of care changes.
• Help with MDS completion
