Job Title: Painter

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at THE BLUE COLLAR RECRUITER. As a Painter, you will be responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces, repairing and finishing drywall surfaces, and assisting with carpentry tasks. If you have a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure areas to be painted and determine the quantity and type of paint needed.
  • Identify and order the appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if necessary.
  • Prepare surfaces to be painted, including removing prior finishes.
  • Mask, remove, cover, or protect furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
  • Assist with carpentry tasks, including installing and repairing trim, windows, and doors.
  • Assist with installing and repairing decks and patios.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
  • Repair and finish drywall surfaces.
  • Assist in installing and assembling furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assigned homes.

Requirements:

  • Own tools of the trade (specialty tools provided).
  • Previous experience in a similar role or willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to take direction and learn from experienced professionals.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
  • Adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to distinguish among colors.
