Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team in the Operating Room at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The RNFA will function under the supervision of the Supervisor - Operating Room and will assist the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
  • Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
  • The RNFA will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions.
  • The RNFA will comply with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
  • The RNFA will comply with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, coworkers, patients, and visitors.
  • The concepts of the patient-centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Graduate of a recognized RNFA program.
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred or will obtain within 6 months of employment and will maintain throughout employment.
  • Current ACLS certification upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
