Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL LTL Driver to join our team at Spee-Dee Delivery Service. As a CDL LTL Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Delivery and Pickup: Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers, verifying all load-related documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, collecting payments for shipments as necessary and returning bill of lading to the office for billing purposes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies, washing exterior of tractor and equipment daily.
  • Teamwork: Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must possess a valid CDL Class-A driver's license and have a good driving record, be 21 years of age, and able to drive a manual transmission.
  • Endorsements: Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively, with full range of motion and no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
  • Work Environment: Work environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle and other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation, and package content.
