Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) will be responsible for executing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as prescribed by the physician. The role emphasizes the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care, tailored to the specific needs of various age groups and populations. In the absence of supervisory personnel, the RCP II may be designated as Lead RCP, overseeing departmental responsibilities during their shift.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Valid State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be acquired within 60 days of hire and maintained.
- An Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
