Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Sunbelt Staffing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • IEP Development and Implementation: Create and implement tailored education plans that cater to the unique learning needs and abilities of each student, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Instruction and Support: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs, utilizing various teaching strategies and assistive technologies to promote academic, social, and behavioral development.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor and document students' progress, providing detailed feedback and reports to parents, administrators, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians, involving them in the educational process and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or a related field, with state certification or licensure as required.
  • IEP Development and Implementation Skills: Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs that meet the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with parents, colleagues, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively to meet the needs of students and the educational team.
Work Environment
  • Grade Level: Grades 1-6, with a focus on small specialized group instruction.
  • Contract Type: Contract for the remainder of the school year.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 32-40 hours per week.
