Job Description

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, requiring 2 days of work per week from 5-9PM. The role of IEC Apprenticeship Technical Instructor involves delivering the IEC Apprenticeship training curriculum to students in the Apprenticeship program. The instructor provides technical support, supervision, oversight, and direction to assist in the learning process of apprentices using a combination of training methods that motivate student learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver PowerPoint presentations and visual aids using the IEC National Curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans for each course date to ensure all learning objectives are covered in each class.
  • Communicate effectively with students and help them develop good study habits.
  • Prepare and conduct hands-on learning exercises related to the IEC National Curriculum.
  • Enforce Electrical Safety Procedures, including Eye protection and proper lock out tag out procedures.
  • Attend instructor meetings as required, monthly and annually.
  • Complete other duties as required and ask for assistance when needed.
Requirements
  • Completion of the IEC Apprenticeship program and a Georgia Electrical Contractors License is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or General Education Equivalent (GED).
  • Actively performed work on electrical systems in the construction, repair, inspection, or design as they pertain to the residential, commercial, or industrial industry for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills demonstrating effective use of Microsoft Office products and use of Learning Management System (LMS/CMS).
  • Ability to complete objectives without direct supervision.
