Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing all requisitions and converting them into purchase orders. This includes ensuring alignment between requisitions and quotes, coordinating repairs, and collaborating closely with the Purchasing Manager to address any issues that may arise. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all spot buy requisitions using our management systems.
  • Expediting emergency orders to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Processing spot buy orders for various locations as required.
  • Verifying requisitions against quotes to confirm accuracy in cost and product specifications.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies between shipments and orders.
  • Engaging with suppliers to explore cost-saving opportunities.
  • Researching and sourcing new suppliers as necessary.
  • Coordinating the repair of parts with designated vendors.
  • Generating purchase orders for capital projects and ensuring compliance with tracking procedures.
  • Collaborating with the Purchasing Manager to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Learning and utilizing management software effectively.
  • Updating and processing production purchase orders.
  • Aligning production purchase order costs with corporate purchasing and sales.
  • Reconciling month-end invoices with purchase orders to address discrepancies.
  • Assisting with inventory reorders as needed.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation for regulated and hazardous materials.
  • Investigating issues related to lost or damaged shipments and negotiating resolutions.
  • Understanding and managing responsibilities related to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to manage financial aspects related to material supply within budget constraints.
  • Strong ethical standards for handling confidential information and financial transactions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive work ethic and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Good interpersonal skills and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
