This position acts as a liaison between IT and the clinical areas of the hospital, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the networks and other devices associated with documenting in the Electronic Health Record, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Advises the Nursing Administration on assessing and planning for new information systems, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
- Assists in the evaluation of new clinical software applications and products, identifying potential solutions and opportunities for improvement.
- Develops specifications for system capabilities and enhancements, aligning with the hospital's strategic objectives and goals.
- Provides consultative services regarding workflow processes and technological solutions, helping to optimize clinical operations and patient care.
- Coordinates pre and post-implementation activities of clinical system installations, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and best practices.
- Assists in the development of training manuals, system documentation, and procedure development, supporting the onboarding and education of hospital staff.
- Coordinates and assists in quality assurance testing of clinical systems software, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Participates in departmental surveys and impact analysis, providing valuable insights and recommendations for process improvement.
- Assists with formulating policies and procedures associated with clinical information systems, ensuring alignment with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in testing new applications and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to clinical operations.
- Participates in clinical leadership meetings to guide teams toward problem resolution and system optimization, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Identifies opportunities for process optimization within nursing and coordinates the implementation, driving continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
- Participates in project management processes, including project documentation, monitoring of overall project progress, project communication, and management, ensuring successful project delivery and outcomes.
- Educates employees on workflows, processes, and Electronic Health Record functionality, supporting the onboarding and education of hospital staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and excellence of the hospital.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Three years of clinical informatics system management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field.
- Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Department of Education, as a Registered Professional Nurse.
