Electronics Technician Job Description

At ICONMA, we are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our team. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for performing and guiding less experienced technicians in assembly, setup, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of test results for testing articles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and guide less experienced technicians in assembly, setup, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of test results for testing articles.
  • Lead the collection of prototype material and fabrication and building of prototypes, including test fixtures, and validation of engineering drawings.
  • Provide feedback on assembly to engineers and stakeholders.
  • Perform routine, complex, and advanced tests, collect, analyze, and interpret data per approved test plan, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Review data to ensure quality and build complex harness assemblies.
  • Review test plans and reports of less experienced engineers for completeness, proper test sequence, and efficiency.
  • Draft test reports to include findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and review with the Lead Technician or manager for approval.
Requirements:
  • Intermediate to advanced technical experience in creating test setups, building and assembling complex wiring harnesses, instrumentation skills, and knowledge of diagnoses and test cell problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, power electronics, electric circuits, and systems with control techniques applied to switched-mode power converters.
  • Working experience in the electronics industry, preferably in the automotive sector.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor devices and practical skills in electronic engineering.
  • Troubleshooting skills in basic electronics and good soldering skills.
  • Proficiency in working on electrical system setup and PCB-level electronics.
  • Experience in handling test equipment such as power supplies, digital scopes, and power analyzers.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Associate's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • 4-year degree preferred; 2-year degree minimum in engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience.
  • General fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, welding, and basic machining.
  • Understanding of how to acquire high-quality measurements of high-voltage and high-current.
