Position Overview:
As a Radiation Oncology Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering precise doses of radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. This full-time role operates on a day shift and includes a $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Your responsibilities will include being available for on-call duties, which may involve weekends and holidays, as well as demonstrating flexibility to work beyond standard hours to fulfill staffing requirements. You will utilize ionizing radiation equipment to administer treatment safely and effectively.
Key duties encompass patient scheduling, providing education to patients about their treatment, maintaining accurate treatment records, and ensuring the treatment area is monitored appropriately. A strong focus on patient-centered care, technical proficiency, effective communication, and teamwork is essential.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned radiation therapy courses safely and accurately.
- Operate linear accelerators and CT simulators while performing patient treatments.
- Educate patients and maintain excellent customer relations.
- Document procedures accurately and capture associated charges.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Licensure: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy, with State Radiation Operator Certification.
- New graduates are welcome to apply, provided they can pass boards within three months of hire.
Additional Skills:
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and standard office equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.
- Comprehensive clinical knowledge of radiation therapy practices.
