Job Summary
Tempur Sealy International, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing site in Medina, OH. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for maintaining standard operating procedures in the assembly process, ensuring assembly operations meet specifications, and implementing new processes for product and equipment introduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures in the assembly process to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure assembly operations meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement new processes for product and equipment introduction, including design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Collaborate with other plants on standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Develop and document improved procedures through lean processes and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensure equipment meets quality standards and can reproduce results, and provide training on assembly procedures and inspection techniques.
- Collaborate with other engineers on training activities and provide technical guidance to production staff.
- Recommend corrective actions and process improvements to management, and participate in customer meetings to address complaints.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years' experience in Process/Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification required.
- Experience in process design, new product implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software.
