**Job Summary**

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of Occupational Therapists to collaborate with residents and enable them to lead a comfortable and normal daily life. You will provide unique therapeutic services to enhance the goals and objectives of eligible residents.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Promote independence in activities of daily living (including dressing and feeding) through problem-solving, suggesting adaptations, and observing the resident.
* Observe, problem-solve, and suggest positioning techniques to enhance participation and maximize function.
* Utilize task analysis to suggest techniques to the nursing team regarding feeding, activities of daily living, and other skills needed.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share information and expertise to plan and implement effective treatments.
* Assist occupational therapists in determining the extent to which goals and objectives are being met by collecting and maintaining data.

**Requirements**

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
* Current State Occupational Therapist Assistant License.
* CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
* At least one (1) year in long-term care facility preferred.
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to take care of clients with different personalities.

* Patience, determination, enthusiasm, and an interest in working closely with residents.

* Computer and organizational skills, diligence, and the ability to follow instructions.
* Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding procedures.
* Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

**Physical Requirements**

* Lifting twenty-five (25) pounds or more frequently.
