We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Teacher Assistant at the Aroostook County Action Program. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced teachers to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for young children.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in planning and implementing educational activities and field trips.
- Record observations of children and contribute to the development of individualized plans to meet their physical, social, emotional, and educational needs.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring compliance with program and licensing requirements.
- Participate in the maintenance of the classroom and center, including equipment and supplies.
- Assist with home visits, on-site visits, and parent conferences, working collaboratively with teachers and parents to develop individual plans for children.
- Less than one year of experience working with children in a child care setting is required.
- Classroom experience in Early Childhood Education is essential.
- Ability to plan for individual needs and work with a diverse population.
- Current CDA and in process of attaining a college degree.
- Head Start Performance Standards, preferred.
- Child Care License Regulations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Maintain and promote the highest level of understanding of the Agency's Mission, Vision, and Goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the Agency by keeping information confidential.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures with a 'safety first' approach to all job duties.
- Exhibit a positive, professional, and collaborative attitude with others inside and outside the Agency.
