  • ROLE OVERVIEW
    • The Staff Pharmacist is accountable for the precise and prompt verification of all medication requests, ensuring the safe preparation of medications and pharmaceuticals for distribution to patients within the healthcare system. This role involves extensive research, education, and communication of drug-related information to a variety of healthcare professionals and patients/families. The pharmacist must be proficient in the automated medication dispensing systems and comply with all relevant departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
  • ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience:
      • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
      • Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency is highly regarded.
    • Educational Background:
      • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a PharmD from an accredited institution is required.
    • Licensure and Certification:
      • Must possess a valid Massachusetts Pharmacist License (MAPHARM).
    • Additional Skills:
      • Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software.
      • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
      • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and take initiative.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
      • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
