The Nurse-Resident role is designed for new graduate nurses to develop their clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive and structured environment. As a Nurse-Resident, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse and participate in a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Collect patient data, complete required forms, and perform nursing assessments using critical thinking skills.
- Care Implementation and Management: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards, explain nursing procedures, and identify emergency situations.
- Evaluation and Documentation: Record patient care delivered as planned and any variations, with appropriate rationale.
As a Nurse-Resident, you will be accountable for:
- Developing a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporating the plans of other disciplines.
- Making referrals to multidisciplinary support services as needed.
- Providing care that meets the needs of patients and families.
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
- Have a degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Be willing to participate in the Nurse Residency Program.
