Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team as a technical leader and bridge design expert. The successful candidate will have a Professional Engineer (PE) license and commensurate work experience, with a strong background in bridge design and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate overall design activities and project submission schedules.
- Perform final QA/QC review of project submissions.
- Develop schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
- Work closely with project teams to effectively describe and deliver the scope of work.
- Promote and utilize quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables.
- Perform and check design calculations, technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain design budgets for complex scopes of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school.
- Minimum of 10 years of job-related experience, with ODOT, PennDOT, or Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge design experience preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Thorough knowledge of the design and development process of transportation bridge projects and knowledge of AASHTO and ODOT and/or PennDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, Engineering Software, and Microstation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs.
- Strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills.
