North Brevard Medical Support is seeking a highly skilled Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing athletic training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician and in accordance with the state of Florida athletic training practice act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Injury Prevention and Treatment: Provide prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries under the approval of the team physician.
  • Emergency Care: Provide emergency care within the athletic trainer's scope of practice.
  • Treatment Orders: Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
  • Athletic Events: Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and away varsity football games.
  • Liaison Services: Act as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes, and their parents.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and sports injuries treated by a physician.
  • Budget Management: Develop and maintain a budget for the school athletic training program that is approved by the athletic director.
  • Musculoskeletal Screening: Assist in musculoskeletal screening for annual pre-participation sports physicals.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain a professional, organized, sanitary athletic training room/facility.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training program is required; Master's degree in a related sports medicine/healthcare field is desired.
  • Experience: 2 years to < 3 years of experience in athletic training or a related field.
  • Certifications: National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Certification is required. Must hold licensure by the Florida Department of Health or be eligible to be licensed in the State of Florida, with license to be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained thereafter. BLS for Healthcare Providers is required. ACSM/CSCS certifications are desired.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for career growth and development.
