Job Summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Cashier Lead to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a seamless shopping experience, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Transaction Processing: Process transactions on a point-of-sale (POS) register, maintain a clean and well-stocked food and beverage area.
  • Inventory Management: Order, receive, and unload product, stock, organize, and rotate merchandise on planograms.
  • Cycle Counts: Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Reporting: Perform end-of-day reporting, including register audits and safe counts.
  • Scheduling: Assist with creating and managing the team's schedule.
  • Training: Train lower-level cashiers on job duties and responsibilities.
  • Communication: Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and coworkers.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 4+ years of cashier experience preferred.
  • Skills: Computer/POS knowledge required, cash handling skills required, register audits and safe counting experience preferred, merchandising/stocking experience required, good verbal communication skills.
  • Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
