About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at a community health clinic. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing, to maintain patients' oral health.
  • Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to teeth to prevent decay and strengthen enamel.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to diagnose and monitor oral health issues.
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings to detect potential issues early.
  • Assess patients' oral health and document findings to inform treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care instructions to promote healthy habits.
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Manage patient records and update medical histories to maintain accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Participate in community health initiatives and outreach programs to promote oral health awareness and education.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
  • Must be a licensed Dental Hygienist in the state of Florida.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Experience in a community health or public health setting is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity to perform precise dental procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in dental software and electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
