Infusion Nurse Specialist

The RN Infusion Therapist functions under the direction of the Manager Infusion Therapy or other designated leader. The RN Infusion Therapist demonstrates knowledge, competency, and clinical experience in infusion therapy techniques, including but not limited to implanted ports, peripheral and central venous catheters, PICC lines and non-chemo/immunotherapies.
This individual is responsible for providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. The RN Infusion Therapist addresses the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs and is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations. The RN Infusion Therapist can independently perform job functions and is responsible for self-development activities. RN will work in an outpatient infusion center though alternate settings could occur.
This role could progress toward achieving Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Competency and in so doing would progress to the RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician role.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs
* Address patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs
* Independently perform job functions and responsible for self-development activities
* Work in an outpatient infusion center though alternate settings could occur
**Requirements:**
* Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing Required
* Bachelor's Degree Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing Preferred
* Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
* Basic Life Support
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Minimum 2 years Nursing practice in a direct patient care experience Required
* Ability to read, write and speak the English language High
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills High
* Demonstrates proficiency in IV Therapy technologies High
* Delegation Skills To Licensed And Unlicensed Staff Required Medium
* Ability to multi-task essential High
* Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential High
* Strong detail orientation required High
* Computer proficiency and ability to utilize computerized devices required Medium
* Personal Time Management Skills Required Medium
* Compliance with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required High
* Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within scope of licensure outlined in Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.
