Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Deputy to join our team at the Cooke County Detention Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe transport of inmates from the Cooke County Detention Center to the Cooke County Courthouse and return.
  • Assist judges and bailiffs in maintaining order and decorum in courtrooms.
  • Perform physical screenings of inmates to prevent weapons or contraband.
  • Deliver or retrieve inmates from various facilities, including the Texas Department of Corrections.
  • Conduct transportation of inmates to and from medical facilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Active Texas Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Law Enforcement Commission.
  • Active TCOLE Jailers' Certification.
  • 2 years experience as a Peace Officer and prisoner transport, preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • No convictions of Family Violence, Felony, or Class A offense.
  • Pass the Texas Law Enforcement Commission mandated Physical and Psychological requirements.
