Job Summary

UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room at our McCandless location. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a sterile environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer to and from the operating room.
  • Participate in the preparation and disposal of surgical specimens.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting and Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
